Ferrite Calculator PRO
The CERTILAS Ferrite Calculator PRO is an advanced online tool specifically developed for welding technicians, engineers, and quality control inspectors. With this calculator, you can quickly, accurately, and reliably calculate the ferrite content in stainless steel and duplex welded joints.
Precise control of the ferrite content is crucial in welding engineering: too little ferrite can lead to hot cracking, while too much ferrite can reduce the material's corrosion resistance and toughness. Based on the chemical analysis (the elements from the material certificate), this tool provides an instant conclusion.
- What does this calculator offer?
- Support for 3 leading models: Effortlessly switch between the main metallurgical standards:
- WRC-1992 (Standard & Duplex): The current industry standard for determining the Ferrite Number (FNW), including automatic scaling to Duplex mode (FN 30-80).
- DeLong 1973: Specifically for standard austenitic stainless steel (up to a max. of FN 18), where silicon (Si) and manganese (Mn) are included in the equivalents.
- Schaeffler Diagram: For a broad analysis and determining the ferrite percentage (FS %).
- Interactive visual graph: The tool automatically calculates the chromium and nickel equivalents and plots the exact position of your material as a clear red data point in the selected diagram.
- Project and WPS integration: Easily add the project name, client, or WPS/certificate number to instantly personalize the calculation.
- Easy export: Save your results, including the generated diagram, directly as a PDF or print the document as an official attachment for your welding records.
- How does it work? > Enter the chemical elements (such as C, Cr, Ni, Mo, etc.) of your base material or weld metal, choose the desired calculation model, and click on 'Calculate & Draw Diagram'. The calculator instantly performs the mathematical interpolation and draws the corresponding graph.
